In March 2021 new research, conducted in partnership with Telly Mums Network, Share My Telly Job and BECTU, saw more than 500 Mothers working in unscripted television respond to an online survey. The results were explosive and the data revealed some shocking results. The talent drain for mothers in our industry is fast accelerating, mental health is at rock bottom, and mothers are consistently disadvantaged in the TV workplace.
There is also sexism and bullying within our industry, and with a lack of diversity at the top, are we willing to continue to ignore these intersectional issues? With no official industry support for mums, this session will look at very real and very simple solutions to stopping a mass exodus of female talent.
