Richard Sharp became BBC Chairman in 2021 amid a series of critical debates on its purpose, independence and direction. In his first appearance at the Festival, and after 18 months in the role, Sharp will sit down with actor and director David Harewood and will discuss his experience outside the sector, what he has learned about the modern BBC and his thoughts on its future in a climate of political uncertainty.
