Whose Screen Is It Anyway?
45m
How do we get our telly these days – on what,
and from whom? A golden age for content
means more choice of what to watch but more
ways to watch too. Is the TV set still the first
choice for viewing with so many other devices
at our fingertips? Once the TV’s on, how do
we get to the content we want to watch? And
who’s pulling the strings and calling the shots
on the home screens of today and tomorrow?
The UK’s production sector makes some of
the best content in the world. This session
will look at the myriad ways consumers can
now access and view that content and will
ask whether with so much out there, how do
viewers find the content they love? We will
look at the devices and sets on offer and discuss how access to content is evolving both
on screen but also via other technology such
as the remote and smart speakers. With so
many new entrants to the TV market, who’s in
control of the viewing experience and what do
viewers actually want?
