Meet the Controller: Amazon Studios
Edinburgh TV Festival 2020

48m
Amazon Studios dived deeper into locally-originated programming in 2020, with new shows from the UK and all over Europe. As director of European Originals, Georgia Brown, oversees this ongoing effort, heading up a team that ommissions scripted and unscripted Amazon Original series across the continent. Brown will discuss what worked in 2020, and what’s coming up for the rest of the year and beyond with the likes of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Truth Seekers set to land soon. She will also lay out how producers can work with Prime Video as the service continues to ramp up, and how it is working with European broadcasters and copro partners on series such as Steve McQueen’s Small Axe.
